METAL CRACK INDUCERS SYSTEM
Description
CORKJOINT® Eze-Crack® Metal Crack Inducers are used in concrete slabs to induce controlled cracks at specific locations while allowing for continuous concrete pouring. Eze-Crack® Metal Crack Inducer is made from rigid galvanised metal. It is positioned after levelling/screeding of the concrete has been undertaken and must be inserted into wet concrete, flush with the top of the surface.
As the concrete cures and shrinkage takes place, Eze-Crack® Metal Crack Inducer will induce a crack downwards, in a controlled fashion, helping to eliminate uncontrollable surface cracking of the concrete. Position placement of Eze-Crack® must be determined/advised by the Project Design Engineer so as to achieve the best desired joint locations for the concrete area.
Advantages
-
Designed for on-ground slabs and can be butted up to any given edge
-
Allows the concrete to crack along the Eze-Crack® Metal Crack Inducer whilst the concrete cures
-
Profile makes Eze-Crack® almost impossible to dislodge therefore surface can be floated as normal to obtain a flat continuous surface
-
Eze-Crack® Metal Crack Inducers provides a positive alternative to existing methods and saw cut options
-
Eze-Crack® Metal Crack Inducers insures no cutting of mesh enabling the continuity of mesh and rebar being utilised to their maximum strength Finish concrete floors the same day they are laid
-
No need to saw cut concrete surface, saving time and additional expense provides a continuous surface appearance available in convenient three (3) metre length
-
Provides controlled concrete cracking
Application
EZE-CRACK® Metal Crack Inducer is typically used in various applications where it is necessary to induce controlled cracking in concrete structures. Here are some typical applications for EZE-CRACK® Metal Crack Inducer:
-
Bridge decks: EZE-CRACK® is commonly used in the construction of new bridge decks or the rehabilitation of existing ones. The metal crack inducer is placed in the concrete at predetermined locations to induce cracking, which can help prevent uncontrolled cracking and improve the durability of the structure.
-
Pavements: EZE-CRACK® can be used in the construction of new pavements or the rehabilitation of existing ones. The metal crack inducer is typically placed in the concrete at predetermined intervals to control cracking and improve the service life of the pavement.
-
Industrial floors: EZE-CRACK® is commonly used in the construction of industrial floors, such as those found in warehouses, manufacturing facilities, and other heavy-duty applications. The metal crack inducer is placed in the concrete to control cracking and improve the durability of the floor.
-
Parking structures: EZE-CRACK® can be used in the construction of new parking structures or the rehabilitation of existing ones. The metal crack inducer is typically placed in the concrete at predetermined locations to control cracking and improve the durability of the structure.
-
Runways and taxiways: EZE-CRACK® is commonly used in the construction of runways and taxiways at airports. The metal crack inducer is placed in the concrete to control cracking and improve the durability of the runway or taxiway.
